Despite the recent woes over the virus outbreak, it seems that the popularity of The M was undeterred with over 2000 visitors at the launch weekend of The M. As Wing Tai Property Management has rightly pointed out, they were “very encouraged by the strong turnout (that has) exceeded expectations”.
The M is definitely one of the most fascinating launches due to a combination of facilities, location, and amenities within the region. Since it is located within District 7, it must be mentioned that this district saw a huge (close to a whopping 93 percent!) appreciation, with signature properties within the area like Duo Residences and South Beach Residences doing very well too.
Details of the development
The M is located along the Middle Road and is one of the newest luxury mixed-use condominiums in Singapore, which is coupled with an attractive location within the renowned Bugis region. With a combination of premium high-rise towers, commercial space and low-rise residences within the area, The M is the perfect addition and a great option to consider. It comprises three 20 storey towers and one low-rise residential block, and this adds up to 522 units in total. An interesting addition would be how it also has one level of commercial space on the ground floor, which can be divided into nine retail or F&B outlets.
The M is developed by WingTai Investments, which is a very established company that was founded in 1955 in Hong Kong and incorporated in Singapore on 9 August 1963. Today, Wing Tai Holdings Limited is Singapore’s leading property developer and lifestyle company. Some of their famous works include none other than Le Nouvel Ardmore, The Crest, and The Garden Residences.
Where can you find The M?
Evidently The M is located in a very convenient place, since it takes only a short 3 minutes walk for you to reach the Bugis MRT station, perfectly connected to the heart of East-West Line and Downtown Line. In addition, one extra stop brings you to City Hall MRT station, which is connected to the North-South Line as well.
This means that it takes less than 20 minutes for you to reach the Orchard Central Area and the Central Business District (CBD) as well, which are both very crucial areas of either work or recreational entertainment like shopping and dining too.
While most central condominiums are definitely closer to the Orchard area that is within District 9 or 10, it is still a good idea to live in District 7 where the distance is almost unnoticeable (couple of minutes give or take), and the fact that there is also a growing entertainment and recreational opportunities within the Bugis area.
Since it is so close to the MRT station, it means that there are numerous bus routes that run along Middle Road and Rochor Road, enabling seamless travelling possible for you.
The M’s location along the Middle Road means that there is also direct access to the Nicoll highway as well, which also connects further to the Central Expressway and East Coast Parkway.
Attractive Advantages of the Property
As I have mentioned before, The M impresses with a strategic location that allows you to make full use of all the amenities within the bustling city area. Shops near the Bugis MRT station include Bugis Junction and Bugis+, while shopping malls near the City Hall MRT station would include Suntec City Mall, the CityLink area and Raffles City Shopping Mall. With these shopping options to consider, living at the M will truly be a convenience.
A walk across the other route would bring you to the famous Haji Lane that is lined up with numerous cafes and artisanal shops. There is also The Parkview Square nearby, which is home to the famous restaurant Atlas and a museum as well. The national library is also within walking distance, the perfect place for you to seek for the knowledge and resources you require. Bugis Street is also right around the corner near Bugis MRT station, perfect for you to explore what are the trendy items and traditional food choices available in Singapore.
Speaking of food, there are also several food markets and traditional hawker-style street foods to be enjoyed within the area, which includes Tekka Market, the Golden Mile Food Center, Albert Center, Hong Lim Market many more as well.
In addition, it takes just a 10 minutes drive to reach East Coast Park, which is also another added recreational spot for you and your family to.
Finally, the educational opportunities within the area are aplenty, and some of the options you can consider for your loved ones include:
- PCF Kampong Glam 462 Kindergarten
- Stamford Primary School
- St. Margaret’s Primary School
- School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA)
- Riverdale Senior High School
- Exerceo Business School
- Singapore Management University (SMU)
- Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA)
- Farrer Park Primary School
- Anglo Chinese School (Junior)
Another attractive point about The M would be its mix of facilities, which really promotes the idea of co-living and co-working in an efficient array of lifestyle options – as you can see from the image below. Another interesting factor to consider would be its three-year partnership with LASALLE College of the Arts to bring in a cohesive and thorough set of design across the building – certainly not something you would expect in other properties.
Some of the highlights include relaxation facilities like Club M, where there is a fitness area, party lounge, boardroom, bar and bakerzone. Next there is also a rain garden, relaxation deck, cty lounge, garden shower and aqua social terrace. There are also sports facilities like the gym, outdoor gym, yoga deck and the 50M Starlight pool. Other aqua facilities to mention include the jacuzzi lounge, hydro pod, the hangout area and many more.
The true highlight of The M would be how it also has shops, management offices that are distributed strategically across the 1st Storey, which literally allows you to have the world at your doorstep.
A quick look into the floorplans will show how there is an efficient use of space within the units, and there is also a provision for a balcony among the units. This is definitely a plus point since it allows some outdoor space and a touch of sunlight and fresh air into the living space as well.
The M – A comparison
If we take into account the Masterplan 2019 that states the development plans of District 7, The M certainly has a lot of offer when it comes to upside potential. There are plans to inject more park spaces and other recreational offerings within the area, and yet there are little developments within the area to capitalize on this. Hence, it’s natural to think that The M would definitely benefit from this in the future.
In addition, when we take prices into consideration, we see that The M is slightly on the more affordable side given that its price starts from approximately $2,200 psf, while other options like Midtown Bay are at $2,898 psf while Duo Residences is at $2,154 psf.
